Ploy MCP
Connect Ploy to Claude Desktop, Claude Code, ChatGPT, Codex, Grok, Grok Bot, Muse, Cursor, and other AI tools with the Ploy MCP server.
Use Ploy from the AI tools you already work in. The Ploy MCP server lets Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, Grok, Muse, Cursor, and any other AI tool that supports custom MCP servers talk to your Ploy workspace. From that tool you can start and continue chats with Ploy's Agent, read your sites, forms, documents, and visitors, manage your databases, and publish your site.
Works with: Claude Desktop, claude.ai, Claude Code, ChatGPT, Codex desktop app, Codex CLI, Grok, Grok Bot, Meta Muse, Cursor, and any AI agent that supports custom MCP servers or custom connectors.
Server URL
https://ploy.ai/api/mcpIt is a remote MCP server (Streamable HTTP). You do not need an API key or a token. You only paste the URL, then sign in to Ploy and approve access. After that, the tool is ready to use.
You can also copy the URL in Ploy: open Integrations from your workspace sidebar, select the MCP tab, and copy the Server URL under Ploy MCP server.
How connecting works
The steps are the same in every tool:
- Add a custom MCP server or custom connector in your AI tool, name it Ploy, and paste
https://ploy.ai/api/mcp. - Your tool opens a Ploy sign-in window. Sign in to Ploy.
- Choose what the tool can use. Select All my workspaces in an organization to let it work in any of your workspaces, or One workspace to limit it to a single workspace.
- Keep the permissions you want, then select Authorize organization or Authorize workspace.
| Permission | What it allows |
|---|---|
| Chat with agents | Start and manage chats. Ploy's Agent can change data, use credits, and use connected services. |
| Read workspace data | Read sites, forms, documents, visitors, conversations, and artifacts. |
| Write workspace data | Create, edit, and delete databases, tables, columns, and rows. Needs Read workspace data. |
| Publish sites to production | Publish saved site changes to your live site. Needs Read workspace data. |
Try it
Open a new chat in your AI tool and ask:
Please list my Ploy workspacesThe tool answers with your Ploy workspaces. Then pick one and ask for real work, for example "Ask Ploy to add a pricing page to my site" or "Show me this week's form submissions". If you chose One workspace when you signed in, ask "Please list my Ploy sites" instead.
Setup guides
Menu names change often in these apps. If a label on your screen is slightly different, look for the option to add a custom connector or a custom MCP server.
Claude Desktop
- Open the Claude desktop app and go to Settings. On a Mac, select Claude in the menu bar, then Settings. On Windows, select your profile icon, then Settings.
- Select Connectors, then Add custom connector.
- Name it Ploy and enter
https://ploy.ai/api/mcpas the server URL. Leave the advanced settings empty. - Select Add, then Connect. Sign in to Ploy in the browser window that opens and approve access.
- Start a new chat, select +, then Connectors, and make sure Ploy is turned on.
On the Free plan you can add one custom connector. On Team and Enterprise plans, an Owner adds the connector in Organization settings, then Connectors, and each member then selects Connect on it. A connector you add in Claude Desktop also works on claude.ai and in the Claude mobile apps.
Claude on the web (claude.ai)
- Go to claude.ai and open Customize, then Connectors.
- Select Add custom connector, name it Ploy, and enter
https://ploy.ai/api/mcp. - Select Add, then Connect, and sign in to Ploy.
- In a chat, select +, then Connectors, and make sure Ploy is turned on.
Claude Code
Run:
claude mcp add --transport http ploy https://ploy.ai/api/mcpThen start Claude Code, type /mcp, select ploy, and choose Authenticate to sign in to Ploy.
ChatGPT
Use ChatGPT on the web at chatgpt.com. Custom MCP servers are not available in the ChatGPT mobile apps.
- Go to
chatgpt.com/plugins. - Select the + button, then Add custom MCP server.
- Name it Ploy. Under Connection, enter
https://ploy.ai/api/mcpas the Server URL. - For authentication, choose OAuth. Leave the client ID and client secret empty.
- Review the warning, select I understand and want to continue, then select Create as a plugin.
- Find Ploy in your plugins and install it. Sign in to Ploy and approve access when ChatGPT asks.
- In a new chat, type
@in the message box, select Ploy, and ask your question.
Full MCP access, including actions that change data, is available on ChatGPT Business, Enterprise, and Edu. On Business, only admins and owners can add a custom MCP server for the workspace. On Enterprise and Edu, admins can let other members add one. On ChatGPT Pro, Ploy can only read data. ChatGPT asks you to confirm before Ploy changes anything.
Codex desktop app
- Open Settings, then MCP servers.
- Select Add server.
- Name it ploy, choose Streamable HTTP, and enter
https://ploy.ai/api/mcp. - Save, then select Restart.
- Select Authenticate and sign in to Ploy.
Type /mcp in the message box to check that Ploy is connected. The Codex app, the Codex CLI, and the Codex IDE extension share the same MCP settings, so you only add Ploy once.
Codex CLI
Run:
codex mcp add ploy --url https://ploy.ai/api/mcpCodex opens the Ploy sign-in in your browser. To sign in again later, run codex mcp login ploy. Check the connection with codex mcp list.
Grok
- Go to
grok.com/connectors. - Select New Connector, then Custom.
- Enter
https://ploy.ai/api/mcpand complete the Ploy sign-in.
Grok then finds the Ploy tools and can use them in your chats. On Grok Business and Enterprise, a team admin adds the connector first, then members can use it.
Grok Bot
- In a chat with your bot, send:
Add a custom MCP server called Ploy at https://ploy.ai/api/mcp. It is a remote HTTPS server that uses OAuth sign-in, with no API key or headers. - Check that the confirmation card shows the name Ploy and the URL
https://ploy.ai/api/mcp, then confirm. - On the connect card, select Authorize and sign in to Ploy. If no window opens, allow pop-ups and ask the bot to try again.
- Type
@in the message box and attach Ploy to your task.
You can find the server later under Settings, then Plugins.
Meta Muse
- Open Settings, then Connectors.
- Select Add custom connector and paste
https://ploy.ai/api/mcp. - Sign in to Ploy and approve access.
If you don't see Add custom connector, ask Muse in a chat: Create a custom connector for the Ploy MCP server at https://ploy.ai/api/mcp. It is a remote Streamable HTTP server that uses OAuth sign-in. Then sign in to Ploy when Muse asks.
Cursor
Add Ploy to your MCP configuration file, ~/.cursor/mcp.json:
{
"mcpServers": {
"ploy": {
"url": "https://ploy.ai/api/mcp"
}
}
}Then open Cursor Settings, find ploy in the MCP server list, and select Connect to sign in to Ploy.
Any other AI tool
Any AI tool or agent that supports remote MCP servers with OAuth sign-in can connect to Ploy. In its settings, add a custom MCP server or custom connector with:
- Name: Ploy
- URL:
https://ploy.ai/api/mcp - Transport: Streamable HTTP (sometimes called HTTP or remote)
- Authentication: OAuth. Leave the client ID, client secret, API key, and headers empty.
Then sign in to Ploy when the tool asks.
Manage or remove access
To see which tools are connected, open Integrations, select the MCP tab, and choose Manage connected clients. Select Revoke access next to a tool to disconnect it. To change which workspaces or permissions a tool has, remove Ploy from the tool and connect it again.
Troubleshooting
- The sign-in window doesn't open. Allow pop-ups for your AI tool, then try connecting again.
- Ploy's tools don't show up. Start a new chat, or restart the app, after you connect.
- "List my workspaces" doesn't work. You connected One workspace. Ask about that workspace directly, or remove Ploy from the tool and connect again with All my workspaces in an organization.
- Workspace API tokens are rejected. The MCP server does not use API tokens. Each tool signs in with its own approval.
- Your tool asks for an API key. Ploy doesn't need one. Choose OAuth, or the option to sign in when needed.
