Projects
Give ongoing or multi-part work one home: a goal, a live dashboard, a task plan, and a daily check-in.
A project collects the chats, pages, documents, databases, and Ploybooks that serve one goal. Ploy's Agent sets it up and keeps it current. You watch progress on the project's dashboard.
Create a project
- Open Projects in the sidebar and choose New project. A new chat opens with a request filled in for you to edit and send.
- Or ask Ploy's Agent in a chat, for example "Create a project for our product launch." Ploy's Agent creates a project when you ask for one. It does not suggest one on its own.
- For multi-part work, Ploy's Agent then asks how to plan: Let's build the plan together, Iterate on the dashboard first, or Let Ploy create the plan.
If the work is a one-off task, you don't need a project. Just ask Ploy's Agent in a chat.
The dashboard
Ploy's Agent chooses and arranges the tiles. To change them, open the menu next to the project name and choose Edit dashboard. This starts a chat about the change. A typical dashboard shows:
- Outcome: the project's goal in one sentence, with up to three metric cards. Each card shows a number, its change against the previous period, and a trend. A metric with nothing recorded yet reads No data yet.
- For you: one row of cards that need you. Needs input cards open a chat that is waiting on your answer. The next task card has Run, which starts the task. Recommendation cards open a brief with the evidence and steps.
- Activity: what the project's chats are doing right now, with a short log of recent steps.
- Table: the project's task plan as a board. Open a card to see its brief, steps, and outputs, and choose Run to start the task.
- Outputs, Chats, Ploybooks, and Analytics: tiles for what the project has produced and uses. Choose See all on a tile to expand it.
- When no Ploybooks are linked, the Ploybooks tile can suggest some from the library. Choose Run in the preview to link one to the project and start it.
Starting a task, running a Ploybook, or chatting in a project uses AI credits.
Context and memory
Choose Context to see the project's memory and its Ploybooks. Ploy's Agent writes decisions and constraints to memory as it works, and every chat started from the project reads them.
Daily check-in
Every active project has a check-in Ploybook that runs once a day, early in the morning in your workspace's timezone. It reviews progress and puts recommendations in For you. Check-in chats stay out of your sidebar's recent chats, but they appear on the project page and in Run History. Check-ins are scheduled Ploybook runs, so they use AI credits. To change or pause one, edit its schedule like any other Ploybook, or ask Ploy's Agent.
Rename or delete
Select the project name to rename it. To delete a project, ask Ploy's Agent. It confirms before deleting.
