Credits

What credits are, where to see your balance, and how to get more.

Credits are how Ploy meters AI work. Every time Ploy's Agent plans a change, writes code, or generates an image or a document, it spends AI credits from your organization's balance. Think of it as a fuel tank shared by every workspace in your organization.

Credits are spent while Ploy is actively building or editing your site. An idle workspace uses very few.

Three kinds of credit

Ploy meters three things separately. Each has its own allowance and its own meter, and they do not draw from each other.

Credit typeWhat it covers
AI creditsEverything Ploy's Agent builds, writes, plans, or generates.
Visitor enrichment creditsIdentifying the companies and people visiting your site.
Contact creditsA separate allowance, shown on the same billing page.

Running out of one does not affect the others. If visitor enrichment stops for the month, Ploy's Agent keeps building.

What spends AI credits

ActivitySpends AI credits
Chatting with Ploy's Agent to build or edit a siteYes
Code generation and planningYes
Image generationYes
Document generationYes
Ploybook runs, including scheduled onesYes
Visitors browsing your published siteNo

Longer ploys cost more than short ones, because the Agent carries more context as the conversation grows. If you are making a series of unrelated changes, starting a fresh ploy for each one is usually cheaper than one long thread.

What you get on each plan

Each plan comes with its own AI credit and visitor enrichment allowances, and Starter and Pro each offer several credit tiers. If your plan otherwise fits but the credits do not, you can move to a higher tier of your current plan rather than changing plans.

For current plan allowances and pricing, see the pricing page.

Tracking your balance

Your organization's plan allowances live on its billing page. Click your avatar in the upper left, open Settings, then Billing, and find the Usage section.

You will see:

  • Three separate meters, one each for AI credits, contact credits, and visitor enrichment, each showing usage against its own allowance for the current period.
  • Your reset date, so you know when the next allowance arrives.
  • Your current plan and credit tier, with the option to change either.
  • An Earn 100 credits link, which opens your personal referral program.

Referral rewards are personal. You can see those credits on the Wallet page in account settings. Each person has one wallet, even if they belong to several organizations or workspaces.

Ploy's Agent also warns you in chat as you approach your limit, and tells you when you have run out. If a ploy stops partway with an out-of-credits notice, the work is not lost. Add credits and the run picks up again.

Tip: check the meter before starting a large build, like a full site generation or a bulk content run. Those are the jobs most likely to run the tank dry mid-way.

Getting more AI credits

You can buy more AI credits in three ways from Settings then Billing:

  • Move to a higher credit tier on your current plan: the fastest option if your plan otherwise fits. Pick the tier you want from the credit picker.
  • Upgrade to a higher plan: Starter to Pro, for example. You get the new allowance immediately and pay only the prorated amount for the days left in your cycle. The exact amount is shown before you confirm.
  • Talk to sales about Enterprise: for custom credit volume. The option to reach sales sits in the credit picker and at the bottom of the Pro plan card.

You can also add credits directly from any out-of-credits prompt in the product, which opens the picker pre-set one level above where you are.

Earn credits by referring a friend

Every person gets one stable referral code and a shareable link in the format ploy.ai/r/<CODE>. Your code does not change between workspaces or organizations.

  1. Share your referral link by copying it, sending an email, or showing the QR code.
  2. Your friend signs up through the link and verifies their email address. They receive 100 credits.
  3. If your friend subscribes to a paid plan, you receive 100 credits.

Referral credits go to each person's wallet, not to an organization's shared plan allowance. Each person has one referral code and one wallet.

Where to find your referral link

  • The gift tile in the navigation footer.
  • The Earn credits banner in the workspace switcher.
  • Billing settings, under Credit usage.
  • The Wallet page in account settings.

Visitor enrichment credits

Visitor enrichment has its own monthly allowance set by your plan, and it does not touch your AI credits. Free plans do not include enrichment.

Each enrichment counts as one credit. To raise your allowance, move to a higher plan. If you need more than your plan includes, email support@runploy.com.

Tip: each site can also carry its own lower enrichment cap, set under Workspace settings then Enrichments. If enrichment stops well before your plan allowance runs out, check that per-site cap first.

When your cycle resets

Credit allowances follow your subscription billing cycle exactly. Each cycle starts with a fresh allowance.

Unused credits do not carry over. If you finish a cycle with credits left, they do not add to the next one. Plan larger builds inside a single cycle rather than saving credits toward them.

Downgrades take effect at the start of your next cycle, not immediately, so you keep the allowance you paid for until the cycle ends.

Visitor enrichment and contact credits follow the same cycle and reset the same way.

You may not need more credits

Before upgrading, it is worth checking whether you are spending credits on work you did not intend. Some things run on their own and draw from the same balance:

  • Scheduled Ploybooks run whether or not you are watching. If you have one on a schedule you no longer need, pausing it frees up credits at no cost to you.

Ploy also gets more credit-efficient over time. The same build costs less than it used to.
