Quick Start
Get your first site live in under 5 minutes.
This guide walks you through creating a workspace, building your first site, and publishing it — all from inside the Ploy dashboard.
Prerequisites
- A Ploy account. If you don't have access yet, join the waitlist and we'll reach out when your spot opens up.
- Your company's website URL (helpful but not required).
Step 1: Create Your Workspace
After signing in, you'll land in your workspace. This is your home base — it holds your sites, documents, assets, brand design system, and integrations.
If you have an existing website, Ploy can extract your brand (colors, fonts, logo) automatically during setup.
Step 2: Build or Clone a Site
You have two ways to get started:
Option A: Clone an Existing Site
If you already have a website you want to bring into Ploy:
- Open a new Ploy (chat) from the dashboard.
- Paste your website URL and ask Korra to clone it.
- Korra will import the design, content, and structure — plus extract your brand design system.
Option B: Build from Scratch
If you're starting fresh:
- Open a new Ploy from the dashboard.
- Describe what you want — "Build me a landing page for [product]" or "Create a marketing site with a hero, features section, pricing, and FAQ."
- Korra will design and build the pages, applying your brand automatically.
Typical time: 1–3 minutes for a clone, 2–5 minutes for a new build depending on complexity.
Step 3: Preview and Iterate
Your site is instantly available in the live preview panel. From here you can:
- Refine the design — "Make the hero bolder" or "Use a dark background on the pricing section."
- Update copy — "Rewrite the headline to focus on speed" or "Make the CTA more urgent."
- Add pages — "Add an About page" or "Create a blog."
- Adjust layout — "Move testimonials above pricing" or "Add a sticky nav."
Korra makes changes in real time. You'll see updates in the preview as she works.
Step 4: Publish
When you're happy with the result:
- Click Publish in the dashboard.
- Your site goes live on a Ploy-hosted URL immediately.
- To use your own domain, head to Settings → Custom Domains and follow the Custom Domain Setup guide.
Every publish is saved as a deploy. You can roll back to any previous version at any time from the Deploys panel.
