Ploy's Agent — Your AI Assistant
Last updated
Build, design, write, research, and ship — all through chat.
Ploy's Agent is the AI assistant that lives inside the Ploy dashboard. It can build entire websites, write marketing copy, run competitive research, analyze your analytics, generate images, and manage your deploys — all through natural conversation.

How to Work with Ploy's Agent
Start a chat
Open the Ploy dashboard and choose New chat. Each chat is a focused workflow where you and Ploy's Agent collaborate on a goal.
Choose the site
If your workspace has more than one site, the message box shows which site Ploy's Agent works on. The site name appears in blue next to the plus button. When no site is set, it reads Choose site. Select it to search your sites and pick one, or choose No specific site.
- The first site you open in a chat becomes that chat's site. Opening other sites after that changes only the preview, not where the work goes.
- The chat remembers its site for later messages, and everyone in the chat uses the same site.
- To move the work, pick another site before you send. If Ploy's Agent is replying, your message waits for the reply to finish, then runs on the new site.
- You can also ask Ploy's Agent to work on another site. It updates the site shown in the message box.
With only one site, there is nothing to choose, so the site is not shown.
Choose an agent profile
- Open a conversation or Overview.
- Click the agent name in the composer and choose a profile.
- Write and send your request.
You can switch profiles at any point in a chat. Your next message runs on the new profile, and the conversation carries over. You cannot switch while Ploy's Agent is replying.
- Ploy Agent is the general choice.
- Ploy Lite suits smaller edits and analyses.
- Ploy Ultra suits especially demanding work.
Be Specific
Ploy's Agent works best when you're clear about what you want. Compare:
"Make the site better"
"Add a testimonials section below the hero with 3 customer quotes, and make the background light gray"
Iterate
You don't need to get everything right in one prompt. Start broad, then refine:
- "Build a landing page for our AI product"
- "Make the hero more visual — add a product screenshot"
- "Change the CTA from 'Get Started' to 'Start Free Trial'"
- "Add social proof — show the logos of 5 customers"
Dictate a message
You can speak your message instead of typing it. Select the microphone button next to Send and start talking. Your words appear in the message box as you speak. Select the button again to stop, edit the text if you like, then send it.
You can also use the keyboard. Press and hold Right Option on a Mac, or Right Ctrl on Windows and other computers, talk, then release the key. To keep recording without holding the key, double-tap it, and press it once more to stop. Only the key on the right side works. Press Escape to discard the recording.
Dictation stops by itself after about 15 seconds of silence, or when you switch to another tab. If you select Send while you are still talking, Ploy adds your last words before it sends the message. Ploy recognizes product words such as Ploy, Ploybook, and PloyDB.
Dictation does not use AI credits. If your workspace is out of credits, dictation is unavailable until you add more.
The first time you dictate, your browser asks for permission to use the microphone. If you see Microphone access is blocked, allow the microphone for ploy.ai in your browser's site settings, then try again.
Send while Ploy's Agent is replying
You don't have to wait for a reply to finish.
- Enter adds your message to the current reply. Your message appears in the chat right away, and Ploy's Agent reads it at its next step. If the reply ends first, your message starts the next reply.
- Ctrl+Enter (Windows) or Cmd+Enter (Mac) queues your message for later. It waits under Queued above the message box. When the current reply finishes, Ploy's Agent answers each queued message in its own reply, in the order you sent them. When Ploy's Agent is not replying, these shortcuts send your message as usual. While Ploy's Agent is replying, hover over the send button to see both shortcuts.
Select a queued message to see all of it when it is cut off or has attachments. You can't edit or reorder queued messages.
Stop a reply
Choose Stop to end Ploy's Agent's current reply. Work it already started in the background, such as image or video generation or a design system build, keeps running. When that work finishes, Ploy's Agent continues in the chat and may pick up the task you stopped. Choose Stop again if you want it to stop. Stop also clears messages you queued with Ctrl+Enter or Cmd+Enter. A message you sent with Enter while Ploy's Agent was replying is kept, and Ploy's Agent answers it in a new reply.
Let It Handle the Details
You don't need to specify fonts, spacing, colors, or code. Ploy's Agent pulls from your design system automatically and makes design decisions that stay on-brand.
Tips for Best Results
Give context up front. "We're a B2B SaaS company targeting engineering leaders" helps Ploy's Agent make better design and copy decisions.
Reference examples. "Make it look like the hero on stripe.com" or "Use the same layout as our competitors page" gives Ploy's Agent a concrete target.
Ask for options. "Give me 2 headline options for the pricing page" lets you pick instead of iterating from scratch.
Use it for research first. Before building, ask Ploy's Agent to research competitors, keywords, or design references. Better inputs → better outputs.
Delegated work
For straightforward, focused work such as research, analysis, and focused implementation, you can ask for Ploy Lite. Use Ploy Agent as the general choice, or ask for Ploy Ultra for especially demanding work.
Give feedback on a response
Choose Good response or Bad response on a reply. The rating is recorded when you select it. If Tell us more appears, you can optionally add context.
Feedback is not a support request and does not guarantee that the reply will automatically change. Use Help & support when you need assistance.
Work with assets
Use Library Assets to find and reuse workspace images, videos, fonts, and documents. Check the asset's preview before asking Ploy to use it in your work.
Attach files in chat
Choose Upload files in the composer's plus menu, or drag files into the chat. You can attach images, PDFs, fonts, CSV and JSON files, Markdown and other text or code files, HTML, XML, ZIP archives, MP4, MOV, or WebM videos, and MP3 audio, up to 10 MB each. Attached files stay private to your workspace. You can play an attached MP3 in the chat. Ploy's Agent can't listen to audio, so describe what is in the recording if it matters to the task. To use an attached image, video, or MP3 on your site, ask Ploy's Agent to add it to Assets.
When you paste more than 4,000 characters at once into the composer, Ploy attaches the text as a private file named pasted-text.txt instead of adding it to your message. If your message already has as many attachments as it can hold, the text stays in your message. Wait for the upload to finish before you send. If the upload fails, or the paste is larger than 10 MB, the text goes back into your message and an error explains why.
