Buy a domain in Ploy

Start a domain purchase from Ploy and complete checkout with IONOS.

IONOS is Ploy's affiliate partner for domain purchases. Domain registration, your IONOS account, and domain payments are separate from Ploy.

Start a domain purchase

1. Open Sites in Ploy's left navigation.
2. Choose a site card and click Dashboard.
3. Open Hosting in the Dashboard navigation.
4. If the site has no custom domain yet, find Buy a new domain on the page. Otherwise, select Add domain first.
5. Select Buy Domain. Your site must be published to production before you can buy a domain here.

If you already own a domain, use Connect a domain you own instead. See the custom domain setup guide for that workflow.

Complete checkout with IONOS

The domain purchase checkout is with IONOS, not Ploy. Create an IONOS account or log in to your existing IONOS account to complete your purchase. This account is separate from your Ploy account.

You pay IONOS directly for the domain. The transaction is with IONOS, not Ploy, and your domain payment is separate from your Ploy billing.

Take your Ploy site live

Ploy presets the DNS values needed to take your domain live for your new Ploy site. DNS records point your domain to your site. Follow the setup instructions in Hosting to finish taking it live.

Presetting DNS values does not make Ploy your domain registrar or transfer responsibility for your domain to Ploy.

Renewals and domain management

Ploy is not responsible for domain renewals or other domain management. You are responsible for renewing and managing your domain directly through your IONOS account.

Use IONOS for domain billing, renewal settings, and registration management. Use Ploy's Hosting dashboard for your Ploy site's domain connection and setup.
